I’ve been pounding the drum of caring for our most vulnerable. The link between the Church, compassion and children remains as strong as ever and for decades. Christians have started orphanages, sponsored the children in them, and traveled all over the world to meet them face to face. There is no doubt that many Christians have taken these words to heart. In the book of James, it says, “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world” (James 1:27).
